The vineyards are located in the area of Keratea, but also in the wider area of Lavreotiki, designated by UNESCO as the Geopark of Lavreotiki.
Although geographically we belong to the Mediterranean wine growing zone, our vineyards are very different from the rest of Attica.
OUR SECRET

The geographical position of the city, since it is built at the foot of Mountain Panio and at an altitude of 200 meters, combined with the close distance from the surrounding coasts, make it one of the most favorable areas for the cultivation of grapes.
In particular, the mild characteristics of the seasons, combined with the sea air masses, form an excellent environment for the cultivation and sustainability of the grape.
However, the most important element of differentiation compared to the other regions is the soils. In the outskirts of Keratea it is clayey while as we are closer to Lavrio they change to slate, since the area is known for its minerals due to the existence of the oldest mines in Greece
Today our vineyards spread over an area of 250 privately owned acres. They are mainly cup-shaped, but there are also some linear ones. All with a low hectare yield of 300-400 kg per hectare. The dominant variety is the Savatiano grape, followed by Mandilaria, Muscat de Hamburg, Malagousia and Limniona.

The history of the Attica vineyard has its roots deep in antiquity. According to mythology, the god Dionysos visited Attica and entrusted its inhabitants with the secrets of vine cultivation.
The inhabitants of the Mediterranean continue viticulture making their own modern history. Today, Attica has 65,000 hectares of vineyards and is geographically divided into three regions: Eastern Attica which includes the Mediterranean plain, Northern Attica which extends from Stamata to the border with Boeotia and Western Attica with the vineyards of Megara and of Kithairona.
Keratea belongs to the Mediterranean zone, just a few kilometers from Athens and very close to Athens International Airport. Area of the municipality of Lavreotiki, the southeastern tip of the Attica peninsula and included in the UNESCO World Geoparks Network.
